• James Kitchen, 67

    ROCKPORT – James A. Kitchen, 67, of Rockport died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.
    He was born in Rockport Feb. 20, 1943, to the late Mearl and Ethel (Daniels) Kitchen.
    He is survived by his wife, Bettyjane Kitchen; a son, Jeffrey Kitchen of Chicago, Ill.; one grandson; siblings, Richard Kitchen of Evansville; Doris Powell of Rockport and Jo-Lena Dawson of Rockport and many extended family members.

  • Monty Percifield, 68

    EVANSVILLE – Monty Percifield, 68, of Evansville, passed away at his home Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010.
    He owned and operated Montray Lawn Care with his wife, Tracey. Monty was a U.S. veteran who served in the Navy during Vietnam. He also enjoyed all aspects of being outdoors including motocross, hunting and fishing.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Romey and Nancy (Parhan) Christy and a brother, Billy Christy, all formerly of Bloomington.

  • Marie Biever, 89

    TELL CITY – Marie C. Biever, 89, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City.
    She was born in Rockport July 14, 1921. Her parents were the late Joseph and Thresie(Schulte) Hurm.
    A 1939 graduate of Rockport High School, Marie had worked for the Tell City News.
    She is survived by her daughters, Theresa Osborn of Carmel and Patricia Mynsberge of Greenwood; her sons, Don Biever of Tell City and Richard Biever of Avon; a sister, Clara Kreilein of Jasper; her brother, Bernard Hurm of Rockport and four grandchildren.

  • Jean Hemmerlein, 82

    ROCKPORT – Jean Leslie Hemmerlein, 82, of Chattanooga Tenn., formerly of Rockport, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010.
    She moved to Chattanooga from Rockport in 1969.
    She is survived by her daughter, Dollene Hemmerlein-Longley of Snellville, Ga.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20 at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. Burial is in Hackleman Cemetery in Chrisney.
    Visitation is from 1 until 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

  • Mary Dowland, 75

    GRANDVIEW – Mary N. Dowland, 75, of Grandview passed away Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at the home of her daughter.
    Mary was born Sept. 20, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., to Michael and Nora Barrett. Mary was the fifth of nine children growing up in the Canaryville neighborhood of Chicago.
    She moved to Grandview in July 1969. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and telling stories with her siblings.

  • George Lillpop, 86

    ROCKPORT – George Robert Lillpop, 86, of Rockport died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Rockport.
    He was born Jan. 23, 1924, in Rockport to the late George Thomas and Lessie (Adams) Lillpop.
    He is survived by his children, Diane Raley of Atoka, Tenn., and Tom Lillpop of Lafayette; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
    Services were held Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport.
    Brother Caleb Potter officiated.

  • Lucille Simpson, 69

    RICHLAND – Lucille K. Simpson, 69, of Richland passed away Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Home in Evansville.
    Lucille was born in Chrisney Oct. 4, 1940, to the late Fred and Florence (Bennet) Anders.
    She was retired from Whirlpool. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Simpson; a daughter, Jacquline Simpson; a son, Jack Simpson Jr. and a brother, Bill Anders.

  • Earl Records, 87

    PORTLAND – Earl Records, 87, husband of the former Nina Ayers of Rockport, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at Portland.
    In addition to his wife, he survived by two daughters, a stepdaughter, a stepson, grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Parker of Rockport.

  • John Masterson, 88

    GRANDVIEW – John Myron Masterson, 88, of Grandview died Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at his home.
    He was born April 15, 1922, in Lamar to the late Laurel and Sadie Lavena (Bufkin) Masterson.
    He is survived by his wife, Viola Masterson; three sons, Paul, Larry and Laurel Masterson; eight grandchildren; three step-granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.

  • Enid Marshall, 84

    ROCKPORT – Enid Marie Marshall, 84, of Rockport died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Rockport.
    She was born Aug. 27, 1926, in Yankeetown to the late Wayne and Dorothy Marie (Stepro) Goodwin.
    She is survived by her children, Carol Moulton, Jerry Marshall and David Marshall; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a brother, Eldon Goodwin.
    Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. The Rev. Carl Boyd officiated. Burial was in James Parker Cemetery in Hatfield.
