All-you-can eat fish, craft beer Friday in Ferdinand


FERDINAND – St. Benedict’s Brew Works and the Sisters of St. Benedict will sponsor an all-you-can eat fish fry on Friday, March 2, in the Sisters of St. Benedict Event Hall in Ferdinand.

Serving will begin at 4:30 p.m. Eastern time and will continue until 8 p.m. Leo Gronquist will perform.

Meals will include all-you-can-seat fish, slaw, baked mac-and-cheese and desserts. Carry-outs will be available and there will be a separate carry-out serving line. Meals will be $9 and children ages 10 and younger can eat for $6.


Fundraiser will benefit children’s mission in Ecuador


DALE  – Dale Presbyterian Women will host a rummage sale on Friday, March 16, and Saturday, March 17, at the Micah Center, located on the north end of Dale Presbyterian Church, facing Hammond Street in Dale.

West-side doors will open Friday, March 16, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, March 17, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. A soup sale will also be held Saturday, March 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Soup will be available by the bowl. For carry-out, take your own container.

All proceeds from this event will go toward the missions of “Pate Ministries, For the Children of Ecuador,” designated to Linda Freeman’s Christian Family and Children’s Ministries. Freeman, having served her life in the mission work field, founded this ministry to strengthen and heal families, providing a safe haven for all children. The ministry works in the southern Andes of Ecuador.


Seminary Lenten prayer and music service March 19


ST. MEINRAD  – St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology will present a service of Lenten prayer and music called “Harvest of Sorrows.”

It will be held on Monday, March 19, at 7 p.m. Central Time in the school’s St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel. The service is free and open to the public.


Fish dinner Friday at St. Boniface Church


FULDA – There will be a fish dinner in the St. Boniface Church Parish Center Friday, March 2, from 3 to 7 p.m.

Adult dinners consist of two boneless filets and children’s meals will have one fillet. All dinners have bread, dessert, drink and your choice of three sides which include German fries, baked beans, macaroni and cheese and slaw.

Adult meals will cost $10 and children’s meal will cost $7. The cost of fish sandwich or slice of cheese pizza is $4.

Dine in or carry-out orders will be accepted. Proceeds will benefit the parish.


Lenten breakfast series continues Saturday


SPENCER COUNTY – A series of community Lenten breakfasts will continue Saturday, March 3, at 6 a.m. at Richland United Methodist,with Midway United Methodist serving as co-hosts.

Other breakfasts  include:

•March 10 at Trinity United Methodist hosted by Trinity United Methodist and Smithfield Baptist Church.

• March 17 at Gospel Mission hosted by Bethel Christian Center and Gospel Mission Church.

• March 24 at Free Zion Baptist hosted by Shiloh Church and Free Zion General Baptist Church.

• March 31 at Church of the Nazarene (in their new building) hosted by St. Bernard Catholic and Church of the Nazarene.
