Spencer County politics screwed up

Some of you know me, many do not, but my name is Kyle Belcher. I have lived in Southern Spencer County since 1969, when my father moved here from Tempe, AZ. He was the County Extension Ag Agent from 1969 to 1988. The reason I am writing this letter is to let everyone know just how screwed up our political system is in Spencer County. We elect officials to run offices in the court house for a term. If you get voted out of office, everyone in that office loses their job and the newly elected official take over from start. What a MESS!!! Idea! Have a board of directors over the county that HIRES the officials to run the different branches. They are held accountable to the board. The board can be an elected board or appointed one, doesn't matter. The different "managers" of the offices hire and fire their employees and are not allowed to hire family. This way all of the offices would get along, no political BS, and you wouldn't feel like you were in a track meet every time you went into the court house, go here...no go there...no go where you were in the first place!!!! Stupidity in action!!!! Employees would be happier because they are not worried about their jobs being eliminated every election. Service would be better because we would have much better qualified people running the offices, not just popularity contest winners! BRILLIANT!!!! In your rebuttals, do not tell me that this cannot work, tell me WHY it will not work.  That took five minutes....now somebody tell me how to keep leaves from coming off of my trees and I will be a happy man!!!  I wish everyone a happy holiday season.
