TELL CITY—Cody Stein, a Heritage Hills graduate now on the University of Evansville’s cross country team, won the Schweizer Fest six-mile road run in 31:07 Saturday.
His time was the fastest since Nick Waninger, who also ran for Heritage Hills and U of E, won it in 30:48 in 2004.
Stein, who won for the second year in a row, beat runner-up Ryan Wells by 1 minute, 24 seconds.
Former Heritage Hills runner Kyle Kaufman won the two-mile run in 10:37.
Tell City graduate Nick Bower was second in 11:23 and Perry Central graduate Noah Gatwood was third in 11:31.
Perry Central freshman Marie Schwartz was the women’s winner in 13:29.
A total of 285 finishers were listed in the two-mile results and 145 in the six-mile race.
