ROCKPORT - The child-support division of the Spencer County prosecutor's office was recently rewarded by the Indiana Child Support Bureau for being the most improved in Southwestern Indiana for the first quarter of 2010.
During the first three months of the year, the Spencer County office had the largest increases in paternity establishment, support orders, arrearage payments and child support collected.
Through April, the office had distributed collections of $668,914, an increase of 8.3 percent from the same period in 2009. In April alone, the office had distributed $196,907, a nearly 21-percent increase from the same month in 2009.
"I want to commend our child support division on the outstanding work they have done. The office has always ranked highly statewide in multiple categories, but this award shows that the office staff continues to strive for improvement and to serve the county as efficiently and effectively as possible," Prosecutor Dan Wilkinson said. "I congratulate administrator Carrie Robinson, case managers Lorri Brodie and Lisa Wheeler and Deputy Prosecutor Jack Robinson on receiving this well-deserved honor and I appreciate the hard work that went into earning it."
