Here in Spencer County, Indiana

A new Animal control shelter is in the process of opening.

Animal Advocates are not happy about a kill shelter

We all feel the animals should not have to suffer because of irresponsible owners.

At the Richland Town Meeting in the month of January, the subject about dogs running loose in Richland and some was discussed.

I was introduced.

My first words were:

“Don’t mistake my kindness as weakness, because there is none, I am an Animal Advocate and I am No Kill.”

Dogs do not know they are doing wrong, they are only doing what they know. This is in no way the dogs fault. If they had responsible owners this would not happen. But because it does, now they will be in jeopardy.

I, as many others feel the animals need a fair chance.

Myself, when the dogs run loose, this is animal neglect.

I feel that the owners need to be charged with animal neglect.

Steps should be taken way before the consideration of putting a dog to sleep and I feel this is the first step they really should start to look at.

I want to adopt positive thoughts for the dogs and their safety, with the help of the community this can happen and hopefully the fate of these dogs will not be at Animal Control and end up in the freezer room.
