It is not uncommon for puppies and dogs to put everything in their mouth. It also isn't uncommon for something to get lodged in their throats, choking on something. Some dogs even puppies gobble up their food as fast as they can, which also causes choking for some.

If you know that your dog is choking, do not panic.

Put your arms or hands around the dogs chest, depending on their size.
Making a fist out of your hands, place one hand over the other between the dogs tummy and lower rib cage.
